In the early hours of the morning, we will experience one of the harshest full moons of the year.
Even though the full moon takes place in Taurus, the sign of permanence, Pluto being placed like dynamite at the very bottom of the chart unleashes a transformative energy that makes us want to cut away issues that have already turned gangrenous.
Scorpio is rising in the chart of the moment, and the Sun-Moon opposition appears to be settled on the relationship axis. Alongside Pluto, which is in a tight square to the full moon, lies Juno. The contrast of Mars and Venus reveals a fight quietly continuing in the background. All these indicators, together, point to the issue being ‘relationships’.

Moreover, Venus, the ruler of the full moon, is retrograding from the final degree of Libra toward Chiron: indicating that wounds that never healed but were covered up and hidden will now resurrect and be sharply ripped away this time in a 'Plutonic' manner, just as if touched by a surgeon's scalpel. Because those wounds we failed to heal in time are now sickening the healthy tissues as well.
Pluto tells us that this tearing-away process will begin with a crisis, and that a suspicion might trigger this crisis. For the full moon is also accompanied by Mercury and Venus retrogrades... As if by a fated intervention, things from the past burst to the surface and whether we want to or not, we are forced to face them.
The square of the ascendant ruler Mars with Mercury is also quite striking. While Mercury in Scorpio tracks clues in pursuit of its intuitions, smoldering inside with doubts and quietly digging under everything, Mars standing at the top of the chart provokes Leo's pride. So much so that the things eating away at us can no longer find the patience to stay put; our strategic mind waiting for the right day to settle accounts clashes fiercely with our tired warrior who yields to pride. And a moment comes when first a flame sparks in our mind; then an event, a rumor, a word suddenly fans the flame within us, and finally, all those built-up feelings waiting for the day of patience spill out unfiltered, striking their target like an arrow of fire…
Pluto's starring role in the full moon shows that we have long begun to question the things we were certain belonged to us and whose safety we took refuge in; the fire has already fallen inside us! What passes through our mind could, of course, be nothing more than groundless fiction, or for now, merely a preview of a reality that can be called intuition. On the other hand, who knows, this might also be a search for an excuse by our self that wants to turn inward and free itself from its bonds that have decayed like an obsolete rope. Whatever the case, we are now far from the peaceful harbors depicted by Taurus. We don't like it, but there is nothing to be done; we are being brutally awakened from a deep sleep, and we are helpless.
“Sometimes it may be thought that we left things behind. However, either the paths or the minds have changed. Stop creating your self-worth through the eyes of others. The road to healing passes through the eye of the storm.”
At the root of this restlessness lies searching in someone else's waters for the source of light emanating from oneself, the hidden power deep within, worth, and even love—failing to find it, and failing to realize that they will never be there anyway.
For Scorpio is only accustomed to seeing itself through the mirror held in the other's hand. If that mirror is dirty, the image is dirty too. Problems mostly stem from failing to turn around and look into one's own mirror. The illusion that one's own strength and beauty are indexed to someone else's gaze is paid for by remaining blind to one's own truth. Yet now, this crisis is an opportunity; one can clean their mirror and turn it toward their own face, seeing what could not be seen before.
The most dominant clause of Taurus' laws is to 'protect'. To protect love, relationships, power, all those hard-won values that cannot be easily obtained... Even if one possesses nothing, even if left with nothing, to claim one's own essence, embrace values whose source is hidden within oneself, appreciate their worth, and weave them stitch by stitch...
However, for the sake of protecting what one has, not to ignore one's own self-worth and not to let others disrespect it...
To be able to see oneself not through another's cracked and dirty mirror, but through one's own mirror, to cherish that mirror like the apple of one's eye, to keep that mirror clean, and never to hand it over to someone else.
“To love myself, I do not need anyone else's love, gaze, or the worth they may or may not give.”
In this full moon, there is a process drawing to a close regarding the external sources we use for replenishment of power. This might be a tightly held hand of a friend, a makeshift relationship taken refuge in, or a financial dependency. There is nothing wrong with receiving support from someone else, but the part of us that thinks it is ‘in need’ of this is ‘forced to’ discover its own inherent potential.
This state of being forced can emerge in a jarring manner. It can have a confronting effect with truths that we know well deep down but deny on the surface. We may hear something, see something. We may pursue something, dig into it, and uncover things. Snow may fall on the mountains we trusted; a door might suddenly slam in our face. So be it!
Mars' angry stance shows that we might be in a burning and destructive attitude. Mercury, connected to it by a square angle, tells us that almost everything seems as if it were hostile to us. In the end, what must happen will happen, and life will no longer make it possible for anything to come between you and 'what really matters'.
Even if you think you are experiencing a crisis, facing a problem, or getting hurt, life's plan is different... Life extends a crystal-clear mirror to you so that even while walking 'together', the steps you take belong solely to you, that you find your own path, and see your true power. The only thing that matters is this: will you look in the mirror?
With love and light♥️
